MEET LINDA
Linda Crockett MSW, BSW, RSW, SEP
Linda Crockett is a nationally and internationally recognized psychological safety expert, known for her uncompromising advocacy, trauma-informed approach, and ability to navigate some of the most complex and high-risk workplace situations. She brings both tenacity and deep empathy to her work, supporting individuals and organizations through conflict, psychological injury, and systemic breakdowns.
With over 38 years in social work and more than 15 years specializing in workplace psychological safety, Linda has been a trailblazer in this field for over 16 years. She has played a pivotal role in advancing the integration of critical concepts such as psychological safety, psychological hazards, psychological injury, and trauma-informed skill sets into workplace policies, investigations, and organizational practices. Her work has influenced how these issues are defined, assessed, and addressed across sectors, including her role as an Expert Advisor to the Treasury Board of Canada, where she co-authored national recommendations for addressing workplace harassment, discrimination, and systemic harm. Her work has contributed to a measurable shift in how organizations and governments recognize and respond to workplace psychological hazards, including the growing adoption of trauma-informed frameworks, psychologically safe language in policy, and more accountable investigation and response practices.
Linda has worked across all levels of the workplace, from frontline employees to senior leadership, unions, boards, and government. She has supported thousands of individuals, including physicians, executives, public servants, Indigenous leaders, educators, and workers across diverse industries, guiding them through complex situations involving bullying, harassment, mobbing, psychological violence, institutional betrayal, and significant gaps within workplace systems. She understands that workplace harm is not just professional, it is deeply personal, often impacting identity, health, family, and financial stability.
She is the founder of the five-time award-winning Canadian Institute of Workplace Bullying Resources, recognized as the only organization in Canada to offer a full spectrum of trauma-informed services for employers, injured workers, bystanders, and those causing harm. Her work included corporate training, workplace cultural assessments, investigations, and system-wide interventions, all customized to the unique needs of each industry, profession, and community, including Indigenous organizations. This model set a new benchmark in Canada for integrated, trauma-informed workplace services, addressing prevention, intervention, and recovery across all parties involved.
Linda also founded the Canadian Institute of Workplace Harassment and Violence, a not-for-profit that later became a registered charity. Following that transition, she stepped away from the organization as it no longer aligned with her values and vision.
She is also the founder of International Workplace Bullying Awareness Week, now recognized across 22 countries each October, and co-founder of the Physicians National Task Force on Workplace Bullying and Harassment.
A published author and researcher on workplace and academic bullying, Linda is a sought-after speaker who has presented across Canada and the United States. She provides mentorship and coaching to leaders, consultants, investigators, and therapists, and is known for advancing trauma-informed practices in workplace investigations, organizational response, and clinical treatment of psychological injury. She is also recognized for training investigators and therapists to competently assess and treat workplace psychological injuries, an area historically overlooked in both systems.
Her work bridges prevention, intervention, repair, and recovery. Through Linda Crockett Consulting, she provides organizational advisory services, leadership support, cultural assessments, and trauma-informed training. She also offers clinical services focused on treatment, repair, and return-to-work support for individuals impacted by workplace harm.
Linda’s work has influenced policy, practice, and awareness across sectors. She is widely respected for addressing systemic gaps, institutional betrayal, and the real-world consequences of workplace psychological hazards.
Her mission is clear: prevent what can be prevented, intervene effectively when harm occurs, and ensure that those impacted have access to the support, accountability, and recovery they deserve.
